A Short Message

"Anger" is one letter short of "Danger".

Think about it.

And spend some time in prayer about the anger inside of your heart.
Psalm 119:11 reads:
"I have hidden Your Word in my heart
that I might not sin against You."

How much money do you need?

That is a question we hear a lot. "Need" is an interesting word.

It does not mean WANT or DESIRE.

"Just enough to do what is necessary" I would answer.
Some people are shocked I did not say "More, much more!"
I say what I say because of what I read in Proverbs 30:8-9:

Give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.
Otherwise, I may have too much and disown You
and say, "Who is the LORD?"
Or I may become poor and steal,
and so dishonor the Name of my God.

You may have heard of Oswald Chambers. He wrote once:
A great many people do not pray because they do not feel any sense of need. The sign that the Holy Spirit is in us is that we realize that we are empty, not that we are full. We have a sense of absolute need. We come across people who try us, circumstance that are difficult, conditions that are perplexing, and all these things awaken a dumb sense of need, which is a sign that the Holy Spirit is there.

If we are ever free from the sense of need, it is not because the Holy Spirit has satisfied us, but because we have been satisfied with as much as we have. A sense of need is one of the greatest benedictions because it keeps our life rightly related to Jesus Christ.

In so many ways, we are so accustomed to praying for God to meet our needs, to take them away, to fill us so that we are no longer empty. Be real! If God is in you--YOU ARE FILLED ALREADY!

So, today, let's change our praying tune and pray that He keep us as needy as necessary to stay in conscious dependence on Him. And that we stay as empty as necessary to hunger and thirst for His Spirit and for His righteousness.
